Alexa: "Mommy, I grew a lot last night." (She announces as she wakes up in the morning).
Me: "Wow, you're almost as tall as mommy!" (I say to encourage her excitement).
Alexa: "Yeah, but my bum is much smaller."
Me: Deflated.
Me: "Alexa, time to clean up your room."
Alexa: "Ok mommy, I'll clean it up as quick as an olive! Because olives are really quick!"
Me: Wondering why she keeps making references to vegetables in her descriptions (i.e. dead as a pepper).
Me: "Time for bed." (my favorite part of their day)
Alexa: (with a huge frown) "You know, I'm sick and tired of sleeping every night."
Me: Could have responded several ways, but just let this one go for now...and she went right to sleep.
