Hot Chicks

Well, it was hot and there were chicks in our yard. The people across the street have chickens, and apparently 3 little chicks decided to make their way to the shade of our front yard, out of the 95 degree weather we were having. The were discovered by my friend Kristin who had come for a visit. I wasn't home when she arrived, but came down the road noticing her kneeling in front of a bush with her camera. For a fleeting moment I thought she was into photography and was taking a still life of the shrubbery. Upon closer examination, I saw them. Three cute little fluffy chicks.

The kids had a grand old time taking a look at the farm life in our own yard. They stayed for quite a while and would follow us like magnets when we moved about the yard. Eventually we let the neighbors know, and they came to their rescue. It was fun while it lasted, and it saved me a trip to the local farm with the kids.
